Glenn Wright
Drums
Glenn started out banging on pots and pans from the time he could hold wooden spoons in his hands. By the time he turned 8 his parents had well and truly worked out that he liked hitting things hard with wooden sticks. His parents decided to get him his first drum kit so his Mum could have all her kitchenware back, and before long Glenn’s parents had enrolled him in drum lessons with a highly regarded drum teacher from Wollongong, NSW where Glenn grew up.
Glenn’s passion for drums grew as years passed and by the time he was 15 he was picked up by a local blues band who discovered him jamming Metallica songs in a garage with a few mates, and was quickly recruited to be the new drummer for there blues band. Glenn was hurled into band life playing all the pubs and clubs around the Wollongong and Illawarra area playing up to 4 nights per week all at age 15. Glenn was also a member of several metal cover bands and was also picked up by an original pop/rock band from Sydney who happened to walk into a venue Glenn was gigging at one night, and became there new drummer and went on to play gigs around Sydney and recording the bands first EP at Ed Lee Studios in Wollongong. Glenn then ended up moving to Stawell, Victoria and went on a 10 year hiatus from band life due to work commitments working in the mines but still found some time to practice, give lessons and the occasional jam session when ever he could. Glenn then moved to Swan hill for work and ended his 10 year hiatus and joined YUASK? after losing our then drummer Wayne ” Radders” Radcliff to work commitments abroad. Glenn has over 30 years of experience behind the kit playing a very diverse range of genres and has fit right into our 3 piece band. We look forward to seeing you at our next gig.
